This is the type of work I've been wanting to do for a long time.

So, I quit my job and started my own firm.  My biggest concern to begin with was that I didn’t have many clients or networks to tap into.  I needed to make this work so I scheduled my first event - 7 Ways to Grow Your Business.  From that I got my first ‘Trifecta’ client. 

For my first business planning half day, I sent out the pre-work and reviewed the delivery notes and just did it!  You’re never going to be totally prepared.  You just have to throw yourself off the deep end.  You have to get out of the mindset of ‘I’m just the bookkeeper’.  The Gap events have helped me to recognise my value.

My focus is now 100% Business Development.  Not only do I feel I’m helping clients more but I’m getting more value for my time and the bookkeeping will come anyway.

The Gap system paid for itself from just two clients.

It’s all there in The Gap.  I don’t have to reinvent the wheel.  I’m earning nearly four times my bookkeeping hourly rate from this work.  

A lot of my clients don’t understand the basics of running their own business.  I’m forcing them to sit down, get some clarity and just focus on what they want to achieve and putting them to task with the actions to do this.
